Robinson Hilario

Robinson was raised in the world famous kiting spot of Cabarete by his grandparents. He learned kiting by watching the others when he was 11 years old. “I was jumping after 3 months on the water.  Alex Soto then began teaching me different tricks.  If one person has had the most influence on my kiting it would be Alex.  When I didn’t have a kite Alex would let me use his. I try to do the same now for the younger DR riders.”

Now Robinson’s goal is to be world champion and he is well on his way to reach it. Together with Alex Soto they are part of CosmicKites and are training to accomplish the perfect heat. He’s practicing as much as he can with his crew back home.
For the first time this year he can now travel the world. “It’s all happening so fast by the end of this year I will have been on 5 different continents.  Before competing on this year’s PKRA the only other trip I took was with CosmicKites to an event in Puerto Rico.”

Robinson is also an avid surfer and spear fisher. He recently discovered a passion for design and is helping out for the new collection of Airbound Apparel.
Traveling the world hasn’t changed his personality and like his fellow Dominicans, is one of the most down to earth riders of the tour. “I love traveling the world and seeing things I never imagined. One place I really want to see is California. Even though traveling is an incredible experience it makes me appreciate just how great the Dominican Republic really is.”
